PROFILE

After graduating from the Department of English Literature at Doshisha University, I worked as a corporate sales representative for a manufacturing company in the Tokyo metropolitan area. Following marriage, childbirth, and relocation to a rural area, I resigned from my position. I returned to the workforce as a dispatched employee in the human resources department of a major electronics manufacturer's semiconductor division. A year later, I was fortunate to be offered a permanent position. At the age of 29, despite achieving various goals such as family, qualifications, and career, I realized that I was not satisfied. This prompted me to begin self-analysis. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, I came to realize the importance of life and decided to pause and organize myself, leading me to pursue a career in career support. Subsequently, I worked as a career consultant at a branch office of a central government agency before finally relocating with my family to Kyushu, where I had long wished to live. Currently, I am engaged in various activities such as job placement support, in-house career counseling, and lecturing, specializing in career counseling focused on self-understanding.

Q
Could you please tell me about your previous work experience?
I started my career as a corporate sales representative at a manufacturing company after graduating from university, aspiring to promote Japan's charm to the world through Japanese craftsmanship. Later, while working in human resources, I took on various responsibilities, including handling recruitment for engineering positions. As I listened to the stories and aspirations of the candidates participating in the recruitment exams, I realized the unique narratives and thoughts each individual possessed. This experience inspired me to pursue a career in providing personalized career support, leading me to obtain the national qualification of Career Consultant. Subsequently, I worked as a career consultant at a branch office of a central government agency.
Q
Why did you decide to join and work for J Styles?
I resonated with the founder's vision of spreading the charm of Japan to the world. Since my student days, I've harbored a desire to work in a role that communicates the beauty of Japan as seen from the outside to the world, leveraging my overseas experiences. After accumulating various experiences, I felt that now was the time to make this aspiration a reality.
Q
What impression do you have of J Styles?
It's a team that feels like family. Each member has their own background with experiences abroad, and while we all operate as professionals in our respective roles, whenever there's an issue, everyone readily offers their knowledge and wisdom without hesitation. It's an environment where we respect each other's individuality and can rely on one another, so when opinions are sought, I feel confident in expressing my thoughts openly within the team.
Q
Could you please explain your current job responsibilities?
As a career counselor, I handle interviews with job seekers. I may delve into your background in more detail than a typical recruitment interview, but by verbalizing your experiences and feelings, we can enhance the clarity of your profile, significantly increasing the match rate with potential employers. I hope you'll enjoy this process as much as I do.
Q
A word of advice for those aiming to pursue a career where they can excel globally!
People tend to become elated or dejected when they focus too much on immediate results—it's just human nature. For example, despite applying for jobs abroad, none of them worked out, or not being able to find a job that allows you to pursue your passions. However, how you perceive these events and what actions you take afterward are entirely up to you. Will you wallow in disappointment, or will you analyze the gap between your current situation and what the market demands, taking action from "what you can do now" to build experience and achievements? Your outlook and actions will shape the outcomes five or ten years from now. Remember, life can be whatever you make of it!
