I love traveling, and in my 20s, I worked hard and saved money to go on overseas trips. I often brought my suitcase to the office and headed straight to Narita Airport after work. I visited 25 countries and 100 cities. Unfortunately, I missed the chance for a working holiday visa in my 20s as I was unaware of the program. However, in my 30s, I had the opportunity to visit Canada, Australia, Taiwan, and Thailand through work and interact with Japanese business owners who were thriving locally. In particular, in Canada and Australia, I learned about working holidaymakers and students from Japan who were making a difference locally, sparking my interest in their career paths. Currently, I have teamed up with CEO Hirawatari to launch 'WorkingHolidayCareer.com,' where we provide career support services for global talent.

Q Could you please tell me about your previous work experience?: I joined a major non-life insurance company as a new graduate and worked for 16 years in sales administration and branch headquarters. I experienced a merger in my 10th year, where I focused on providing mental support to ensure smooth operations and building relationships between the two companies, despite the vastly different internal structures. This experience became the catalyst for my desire to become a counselor. I developed a skepticism about the correlation between hard work and mental health issues, realizing the importance of creating a positive work environment where people can work with forward-thinking attitudes.

After resigning, I transitioned to a public relations role at a restaurant chain. I released information to over 100 media outlets, including web, TV, magazines, and newspapers, and accompanied interviews during overseas expansions. At that time, I was fully occupied with immediate tasks, but looking back now, I realize how each experience has contributed to my journey, leading me to transition into a business connecting people with opportunities.
Q Why did you decide to join and work for J Styles?: I want to achieve what I couldn't accomplish in a large corporation! While my time as a corporate employee was fulfilling, I never had the opportunity to work overseas, and my exposure to the world was limited to travel experiences. J Styles is a company dedicated to supporting the careers of individuals who aspire to excel globally, fostering connections with Japanese professionals thriving around the world. Engaging in online discussions daily, I find it incredibly stimulating and exciting to cultivate connections with people worldwide.
Q What impression do you have of J Styles?: We are a team of independent individuals, each with diverse life experiences including living abroad, changing careers, managing dual jobs, and parenting. Regardless of age, our team is comprised of staff with rich life experiences. It is because of this diversity that we take pride in our ability to provide practical and empathetic counseling.
Q Could you please explain your current job responsibilities?: As a career counselor, I provide support to individuals seeking job changes or career advancement. Specifically, I conduct detailed interviews lasting 30 to 60 minutes, during which I carefully listen to their career history and aspirations for the future. Based on this, I offer job suggestions to help them move closer to their dreams and accompany them until they secure employment. I find great satisfaction in my role as a counselor, appearing as a supporting character in someone's life story during our daily sessions. My goal is to provide encouragement and support, even if it's just a small push forward. I look forward to meeting you for counseling sessions, as they say, 'Many encounters lead to lifelong connections!
Q A word of advice for those aiming to pursue a career where they can excel globally!: We are entering an era where life expectancy reaches 100 years, and work becomes an integral part of life. Engaging in a job that you are passionate about adds color to your life. The future is undoubtedly borderless, where having colleagues or superiors from different countries is becoming the norm, and managerial roles may consist of members from various parts of the world. In this era, respecting diversity and possessing flexibility and resilience are essential. Those who have experienced working holiday or studying abroad in their 20s have already acquired such qualities, so I encourage them to confidently build their careers.
